Our place is digi-free, so it allows for full immersion into the moment, without the usual distractions of calls, emails, social media, etc. We are continually holding classes, workshops, ceremonies, retreats, and events in Tea, Zen Meditation, Japanese Cuisine, and spiritual studies. Jade Valley Tea Arts is a privately run Nature Retreat location where we host many kinds of different cultural events and experiences, and the setting and property are strictly held as private space for invited guests only.

From the 49 freeway (Dorsey Exit) only 8 minutes, and 5 minutes to the local Briar Patch Food Co-Op! By car, it's VERY accessible and surprisingly close to everything. Walking from Ridge road down to here would probably take 20 minutes, and at least twice as long going back uphill. That 3 minutes, though, is a very steep hill going down to our place. This location is not really accessible by public transportation, although we are just a 3 minute drive from Ridge Road - a major thoroughfare in Nevada City/Grass Valley. In the Winter/Spring/Early Summer, our season Jade Creek is also running through the property and converges with Deer Creek at the private access area.
Our place extends over ten acres of total seclusion, with private riverside access. We are located towards the end of a dead-end street, very private and extremely quiet. Most of the properties here are 4 to 20 acres. Even though we are just 8 minutes from downtown Nevada City (or Grass Valley), our neighborhood is actually very rural. Deer, wild turkeys, and squirrels can be seen wandering around the property as local residents. Birds, frogs and crickets can be heard throughout the day and night. Having so much natural area to stretch out, sit, do yoga, meditate. Though we are just 5 minutes drive to an award-winning food co-op (the Briar Patch), our location is a rural setting unusually close to town though you feel you're far away from it all. We also have two young children, and occasional "kid noises" may be heard during the day from time to time, especially around 8am in the early morning and 8pm in the evening, but with the door to the room fully closed, almost no sound can be heard from the rest of the house. We do our best to be available at any given moment for any help or assistance. We are home 99% of the time while guests are present.

If you're a fan of Japanese/Asian antiques, or wondered what it would be like to step back in time in the Far East, this space is for you. Digital-free (No wifi service, limited cell reception) Please, no dogs or pets allowed, thanks. Rest deeply in the comfy QUEEN BED immersed in this very private Nature Sanctuary, quiet enough to hear crickets during the day. Just 8 minutes from historic downtown Nevada City, this location feels far away, but it's so close! A Park-like setting & antique Asian charm go well with our "Gong Fu" Tea (on-site Tea House ) & traditional Japanese cuisine options.
